Food Preservation Workforce Labs
Hands-on workforce learning in food preservation and food systems — teamwork, food safety, sustainability, packaging, and community food resilience.

A youth-led day of service honoring the legacy of September 11. Through hands-on learning, food preservation, and acts of kindness, we weave stronger, more resilient communities.

Youth Leading the Way
ServeWeave puts young people at the center — packing meals, writing letters of encouragement, preserving food, and learning workforce skills that stay with them long after the day ends.
Proud to announce: SERVENYS has been awarded a $75,000 grant from 9/11 Day, in partnership with TruBLEND Learning, to build ServeWeave for 9/11 Day.
What You’ll Do
Participants rotate through five hands-on service stations, joining 1,500+ students, families, veterans, first responders, and neighbors in a coordinated day of remembrance and action — followed by a Community Unity Gathering.

Weaving Service.
Building Stronger Communities.
Hands-on workforce learning in food preservation and food systems — teamwork, food safety, sustainability, packaging, and community food resilience.
Assemble shelf-stable meal kits — rice, beans, canned vegetables and protein — for local food pantries and families in need.
Prepare appreciation care packages for veterans, first responders, and frontline workers — snacks, handwritten notes, wellness items, and small keepsakes.
Write thank-you letters and encouragement cards honoring veterans, first responders, and community helpers — grounded in learning about 9/11 and the meaning of service.
Sort, label, package, and prep everything for distribution — real-world workforce skills in logistics, operations, and coordinated service delivery.
After the service stations, we come together for music, student acknowledgements, veteran recognition, and shared reflection on unity, resilience, and collective care for our neighbors.
About the Movement
Together, we can create an unforgettable day of service that educates, empowers, and uplifts our communities.

Be Part of Something Meaningful
Youth, veterans, families, and neighbors coming together to serve, learn, and honor the legacy of 9/11 through action that matters.

SERVENYS (Serving Every Returning Veteran Equitably) is the nonprofit organization that received the 9/11 Day grant to power ServeWeave. Our mission is to weave stronger, more equitable communities by uniting veterans, youth, and neighbors around meaningful, hands-on service — honoring the legacy of September 11 with action that lasts long after the day.

TruBLEND Learning is the implementation partner bringing ServeWeave to life. Through youth-centered curriculum, food preservation workshops, and blended learning experiences, TruBLEND turns service into a teachable moment — helping students learn to preserve today and nourish their communities tomorrow.
